Health official confirmed on Sunday that two more Boulder County residents in their 20's have tested positive for COVID-19.

The first person who tested positive, also in their 20's, was announced Saturday. Positive tests like this trigger an investigation to ID the network of people the patient came in close contact with. Each individual is then interviewed and a course of action is recommended including isolation, quarantine or testing.

The first patient traveled to California and was informed an event they attended had included people who'd tested positive for the virus. When the individual was tested, the result was, also positive.

Boulder County Commissioner Deb Gardner declared a formal disaster emergency Saturday, after consulting with both the county emergency manager and the public health director shortly before announcing the first Boulder County positive test result of infection.
