Wibby Brewing is expanding distribution of its award-winning craft lagers into Denver next week, a move that will introduce the downtown Longmont brewery to a new population of Colorado beer lovers beyond its beloved homebase in Boulder County.

The lager-only brewery will have its beer in more than 50 accounts across the Denver market starting Monday, marking the largest expansion in the company’s 2.5-year-old history.

Falling Rock Taphouse, Tap Fourteen, Fruition Restaurant, the Terminal Bar in Union Station and Timberline Steaks and Grille in Denver International Airport are only a few of the powerhouse names that will serve Wibby lagers this spring. The expanded distribution will reach local staples as far south as Highlands Ranch, as far east as Aurora, and as far west as Wheat Ridge.

Wibby Brewing — the second largest self-distributing craft brewery in Colorado — currently distributes across Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties, as well as across the north Denver metro area.

Ryan Wibby, co-founder and brewmaster, said the brewery staff is "prepared and excited to send Wibby craft lagers" into the Denver metro market.

“Our production team has been working around the clock to brew and package copious amounts of cold-fermented beer to ensure we never run out of the delicious lagers you all crave," said Wibby, whose lagers have won four medals from acclaimed beer festivals worldwide since the brewery opened in September 2015.

The expansion comes as Wibby Brewing is on track to produce 5,000 barrels of beer in 2018, a considerable jump from the 3,000 barrels brewed in 2017. The growth is made possible by the addition of two more fermenting and two more lagering tanks in the brewhouse. The brewery hit 1,700 barrels in its first year of production.

Wibby Brewing creates modern craft lagers using traditional German brewing techniques to produce colorful, eclectic and unique beer styles. Two of its flagship beers, the Moondoor Dunkel and the Lightshine Helles, won the silver medal at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival® in the Munich-style dunkel or European-style dark lager category and the gold medal at the 2017 Copa Internacional de Cerveza Pura Vida Indie, respectively.

Located at 209 Emery St. in Longmont, Wibby Brewing is open 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
