Colorado has spent two years putting together a comprehensive map of all the various trails available for residents of the State of Colorado.  The map, available via browser online, is live.

It covers 226 jurisdictions, includes 17,099 trails, 24,906 miles of motorized trails/unpaved roads, 1,432 trailheads, 5,683 miles of hiking trails, 6,821 miles of mountain biking trails and 1,746 miles of paved bike trails, including Longmont's extensive bike path system.

Its start comes from the Colorado the Beautiful effort started by Governor Hickenlooper.  From the Colorado the Beautiful website:

Governor Hickenlooper unveiled his Colorado the Beautiful initiative during the 2015 State of the State Address with the intent to build on existing efforts and create new partnerships to grow, enhance, connect, and market statewide outdoor recreation resources and opportunities. Through the initiative, the state will set high-level values for trail development and develop a public map of recreational trails – all to encourage Coloradans to participate in healthy outdoor activities. The vision of Colorado the Beautiful is that within a generation, every Coloradan will live within 10 minutes of a park, trail, or vibrant green space.

At the June 11 Outdoor Summit, Governor Hickenlooper directed the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to lead this initiative by first identifying 16 priority trails, trail segments, and trail gaps in 2016. To select the 16 priority trails, DNR has coordinated closely with a team of experts, including the Colorado Pedals Project and Great Outdoors Colorado, and has conducted public outreach across the state. After holding six public meetings and receiving almost 200 recommendations, we are pleased to announce the 16 in 2016 priority trails.
