In collaboration with the outgoing Board of Directors, a new grassroots initiative is bringing fresh leadership and energy to the Longmont Theatre Company (LTC) aimed at securing a vibrant, community-engaged future for the LTC and the Longmont Performing Arts Center (LPAC).
Effective July 1, Charlie Wright has accepted the role of Board Chair, leading a newly appointed Board of Directors committed to community engagement, artistic excellence, and sustainable growth. The previous board members have graciously stepped aside to allow this transition, and the organization thanks them for their years of service and dedication.
“We are incredibly excited to usher in this exciting new chapter,” said Charlie Wright, Board Chair. “This is more than a leadership change, it’s a call to action for the entire community to get involved, share in the creative process, and grow together. This is the community’s theater, and together we can build an amazing story for all of us.”
The new Board of Directors is Charlie Wright, Peg Bolan, Jay Jakosky, Robert Mess, and Scott Dunn.
The LTC board invites the city’s arts organizations, businesses, performing artists, and the public to play an active role in connecting our community through the performing arts in Longmont and beyond, whether by attending shows, volunteering, becoming members, or sharing their talents and enthusiasm.
Looking ahead, the LTC is committed to producing work that is creative, mindful, and inspiring to enhance the quality of our lives and community. LPAC will remain the beloved home of the 68-year-old theatre company, whose doors are open to a wide variety of creative expression, including performing artists, music, comedy, dance, as well as shared experiences with classic films and more.
Many plans are underway, including a year-round Youth Theatre program, to provide learning opportunities for actors of all ages and experience levels.
“With this renewed direction, we aim to become a pillar of the Downtown Longmont Creative District and a cultural destination for the Northern Front Range,” Wright said. “The curtain is rising on an exciting time for all of us.”
