Crossroads School, located at 402 Kimbark Street, Longmont, inside Central Longmont Presbyterian Church, is holding an open house on Dec. 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Crossroads School identifies itself as "a faith-based, alternative school for middle and high school students in Longmont, Colorado."
As Crossroads Principal, Connie Nourse states, "these kids are the future of Longmont," and the school wants to invite the public to come in and see what the students do, to meet the students who attend and to view a light show presented by students.
The community will also have the opportunity to participate in games, decorate cookies, watch skits and a small guitar concert lead by a high school student.
Executive Director and founder of the school, Barb Bulthuis, states, "either we can support these kids in school or we can support them in jail. Kids without a diploma have a higher likelihood to end up in jail within a year. If you are going to spend money, consider investing in a positive future for these students."
