Travel inspires many things, and local artist Laura Garabedian wants to help you channel that inspiration into creativity. She’ll explore the intersection of travel and creativity in her program at the Longmont Library on Thursday, November 7, from 7 to 8, titled “Paints & a Passport.” Garabedian will share stories about creating on the go and storing inspiration for later, as well as weathering the inevitable hiccups of international and remote travel.

Garabedian’s most recent journey took her to China and Tibet with six other creatives. They hiked up the Himalayas in search for snow leopards, climbed ancient stairs in recently discovered ruins, and got their cars stuck in the snow –a lot! When they returned, Garabedian and her fellow travelers collaborated to produce an elaborate journal to share their adventures with others. Along with stories, Laura will bring photos, her own journals, and souvenirs from the trip so that others can hold her memories in their hands.

This program is for adults and teens ages 16 and older. Registration is required and is available online. Patrons without internet access or an email address may call 303-651-8472 to register by phone.
