LONGMONT, Colo. – Since 2006, North Korea has conducted six nuclear tests, and between January 1 and September 15, 2017, it conducted 14 missile tests, demonstrating the capability to reach American soil with an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. On August 8, 2017 President Trump declared that any North Korean threat to the United States would be met with “fire, fury and, frankly, power, the likes of which this world has never seen before.” In response, North Korea announced plans to launch four missiles into international waters near the U.S. territory of Guam. As America – and the world – holds its breath and wonders what will come next, Dr. Ian Feinhandler returns to the Longmont Public Library to explain “The Crisis with North Korea,” in a talk scheduled for Thursday, January 11, from 7 to 8 pm at the Library.
