The Longmont Artists’ Guild’s annual Spring Member Show is returning once again to showcase local artists.

Every spring, the Guild displays their member’s art in a gallery setting with the opportunity for cash prizes. Registration is open through Feb. 26 and the art will be on display at the Great Frame Up through the spring.

Guild President Jill Rumley said that there are usually 40-50 artists in the show.

“The importance of this is to showcase our member artists and give them an opportunity to participate in our show and to experience having your artwork reviewed by a local professional artist,” she said.

Artwork will need to be delivered at the March meeting of the Longmont Artists’ Guild, 5-7 p.m. on March 8, or between 10 a.m. to noon on March 9, delivered to the Great Frame Up at 430 Main Street. The art will be for sale as well.

“We’re excited for this show, so we hope to get some more people to see the show and to visit the Great Frame Up,” Rumley said.

Painter John Taft will be judging the pieces. Taft is a local artist with awards and accolades for several pieces over the past 18 years and a signature member of the Oil Painters of America and Plein Air Painters of America.

“He’s well known in the artist community,” Rumley said. “...He does shows all over the West, so he’s pretty renowned and such a nice guy.”

There will be an artists reception March 10 and art can be picked up in early May.

Participants must be a current Longmont Artists’ Guild member, and anyone can become a member, with up to three pieces. Learn more about the Guild or become a member at www.LongmontArtistsGuild.org.
