The PEEPS Literary Diorama Contest, arguably the Longmont Public Library's most popular annual program, has survived the COVID-19 cancellations of other Library programs and will be held when the Library re-opens. After announcing an initial cancellation of the program, Library staff received feedback from patrons that they would really miss having the PEEPS program this year. Staff convened and realized that PEEP dioramas - those fun, little, patron-created vignettes depicting favorite literary scenes using marshmallow PEEPS as the figures - would be the perfect crafting project for people staying at home to avoid coronavirus spread. Plus, everyone needs a little something to look forward to in this uncertain time, and the PEEPS program always delivers plenty of smiles.

So, if you're practicing social distancing but can get your hands on the items necessary to make a diorama, have at it! Trust us when we say that PEEPS last forever, so you can make yours now and participate whenever the program is held. Watch the Library website for announcements of how the program will proceed after our public health crisis is over. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay six feet away from each other. We hope to see all of you - and your PEEPS dioramas - at the Library soon.
