Snowbound Hounds at Grossen Bart Brewery

Rock your Socks off to the unique sound of the Hounds.

The Snowbound Hounds are a unique group of pro musicians, including steel guitarist Michael Morrison and lead guitarist Clark Robertson of The Bakersfield Band. Bassist Jape Abruscato performs with the 60's band, The Invasion and drummer Dave Swegan is in a multitude of bands playing in the northern Front Range.
The Hounds playlist includes many of your favorite songs from the '50s to the '70s, including songs from the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, The Band, the Byrds and many others.

Great beer, friendly staff and great music. How can you go wrong?!

Paws in the Park 2019

Join Us for a Morning in the Park!

Bring your friends, family and best canine buddy to Longmont Humane Society's annual pet-friendly 2.25 mile walk and festival in support of animals in need in our community. Enjoy pet-friendly vendors, great food, music & a costume contest for dogs and their human companions.

Help us reach our goal of raising $30,000 toward our mission of caring, serving and educating to improve the lives of companion animals.

Walk begins at 9:00 a.m.
Festival 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists (12 Week Course)

The Firehouse Art Center and Longmont Economic Development Partnership is pleased to present a 12 week course for emerging artists in our community! Every Saturday starting October 05, 2019 from 10am-12pm.

Developed by Springboard for the Arts, Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists is based on a series of professional development and entrepreneurship workshops that have been taught to more than 5,000 artists at arts organizations, colleges, and libraries in over 80 communities in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa since 2010.

Work of Art is a 12-part workbook and video series that guides artists of all disciplines through every facet of building a successful and sustainable career – from career planning, time management, marketing, and social media to pricing, recordkeeping, funding, and developing a business plan.

The Work of Art: Business Skills for Artist ($40 for 12 weeks) will include the following:

-Facilitated group work every Saturday.

Maker BBQ and Fireside Chat

Join us for a casual gathering of the maker community for a good old fashioned backyard (back of the makerspace by the water) BBQ. ***Bring your camping chair!

This is the day we would have produced Maker Faire Denver 2019, but we have different plans for events and activities for the community that we'd like to share with you! Your feedback and input is most welcome and appreciated.

We will provide classic grilling food, plus non-alcoholic beverages. BYOB for those that partake in the adult beverages.

(Note:You will be required to sign a liability waiver, this is standard practice at a makerspace)

Brie & Camembert Cheesemaking

Brie & Camembert are in a family of cheeses we call “Bloomy Rinds” and though they are quite complex and delicious in flavor, they really aren’t all that hard to make! Join Kelly Liebrock, The Art of Cheese Instructor and Certified Cheese Professional, to learn lots of tips and techniques for making and aging these cheeses at home. You’ll get to sample several varieties with some fruit and crackers as Kelly shows you how to make this wonderful, artisan cheese.

Seasonal Food Preservation Class: Fruit Sauces and Jams

  • Time: 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • Location: Pastures of Plenty, 4039 Ogallala Rd.

This four hour workshop will cover the basics of making fruit sauces and jams. If you want to know how to keep enjoying more of that peak season freshness all year long, then this class is for you! Cass will introduce you to the basic methods of jam making, provide tips, and go over the necessary supplies. Plus, you’ll leave with plenty of preserved fruit to enjoy at home!

Food preservation is more accessible and attainable than you think. These $60 workshops will cover the basics of preserving food by canning, pickling, fermenting, dehydrating, freezing, and more. Your teacher, Cassidy Tawse-Garcia, has been “putting up” food for a decade out sheer necessity: the growing season in her old home of Crested Butte, Colorado, was just three months. In these classes, she’ll share her knowledge of the age old craft while incorporating modern hacks and great seasonal recipes.

Strider Glider Rough Rider Race

Join us for a morning of racing fun for our tiniest bikers: Strider Glider "Rough Riders!"

Preschoolers ages 2-5 can showcase their balance biking skills at 9:30am on Saturday, October 5, at Willow Farm Park, 901 S. Fordham Street, during a morning of racing fun. Participants should bring their glider and helmet (required). Our opening night performance features two works for organ by Parisian composers, which celebrate culture, music and the incredible survival of the Notre Dame Cathedral’s organ in Paris during the recent fire. Saint-Saëns’ epic symphony for large orchestra with organ closes this sonic triptych. Featuring organist Brian du Fresne.

Historic Hoverhome's 2019 Public Tours

  • Time: 1-3 p.m.
  • Location: 1309 Hover Rd.

Step back in time as our trained costumed docents guide you through this beautiful historic mansion built by Charles L. Hover in 1913-1914. As you tour this historic home, you will learn about the life and legacy of Charles Hover, his wife Katherine, adopted daughter Beatrice, and the beautiful home they left behind for their community.

Tours start on the hour at 1, 2, and 3 pm, and last about an hour. Fees are $8.00 per person (children under 6 free), and no RSVP’s or advance tickets required. All tour fees and donations assist The St. Vrain Historical Society in the continued care and preservation of Hoverhome.

Sunday Night Karaoke Hosted by Michael D' Done Right Karaoke

Guess what everybody?? We have a brand new Karaoke night on Sunday nights hosted by Michael D! He's funny...energetic, and knows how to get the crowd moving. Not to mention his following of singers are really talented. You definitely want to hang out here on Sunday nights!

We have free pool all day, and food and drink specials to support the event. $1 off Microbrews, $1 well Drinks, $3 el Jimador tequila shots, and $2 PBR's.
