  • Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Location: The Kitchen Company, 464 Main St.

Think that sourdough or natural yeast bread is just too complicated – or that bread is the unhealthiest thing you can eat? Think again! Bread made with the natural yeast found in the air of your own kitchen is a healthy fermented food. And it doesn’t have to be complicated at all. You can keep a thriving sourdough starter in your refrigerator. No need to feed it daily. And to make healthy, homemade bread you only need about 5 – 7 minutes hands on. No kidding!

Not so fond of the “sour” part of sourdough? Don’t worry – we’ll show you how to tone it down for anyone’s taste.

Even if you’re gluten intolerant, many people can eat natural yeast breads with no problem. (Sorry, not for Celiacs.)

Bring a friend, or bring your honey – or both. Or just treat yourself to this hands-on class. Take home simple recipes and a sourdough starter that you can use to make healthy homemade bread!

More on Ryan Bio:
Ryan Stratis is one of only four Ninjas to compete on every single season of the tv show “American Ninja Warrior™." He first found Ninja when it was still airing as the original Ninja Warrior (Sasuke) from Japan and immediately fell in love with the sport. He was determined to be a part of it and when Ninja Warrior came to the USA, he had his chance.

Since 2009, Ryan has made it to the finals in Las Vegas finals seven times in a row and has competed internationally in Japan and Malaysia.

Ryan served 12 years in the military and afterwards decided to transition into the civilian life and pursue stunt work in Atlanta, GA.

While there he helped build the ninja community by working with local gyms to provide top-notch experiences and spread the love of Ninja Warrior.

Water Contact - Aquatic Dance

  • Time: 3-5:15 p.m.
  • Location: Essential Element Watsu, 1700 Gauchu Court

This workshop will be divided into two parts: the first part will be "Water Contact", which is a sub-genre of Contact Improvisation and will focus on moving/dancing in the water while exploring the physical connection and relation between the movers.
During the workshop we will change partners all the time, and also dance alone, in trios and more.
In the second portion of the workshop, we will be taking a few of the principles we worked with in the first part, and throw in a twist. We will introduce the roles of Giver and Receiver. Some of the exercises will be while our heads are out of the water and others while we're fully submerged. For that, nose clips will be provided. We will conclude the exercise with time for sharing feedback about our experience in each role.

This workshop is hosted by Elik Gilad, a highly experienced aquatic therapist.

*** No previous experience is required.
*** Cost: $25 per participant.
*** Limited to 6 participants at the maximum, and 3 participants at the minimum.
*** Location: Essential Element Watsu, 1700 Gaucho Court, Longmont, CO 80504.
*** The temperature of the water is 95-98f, (salt water).
