Day of the Dead exhibit

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a time to honor and celebrate deceased loved ones. In partnership with the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Longmont Museum is proud to showcase an exploration of the iconic female figure known as La Catrina in this exhibition. One of Día de los Muertos’ most recognizable icons, La Catrina was born out of Mexican social satire depicting the upper classes and is still seen today in celebration of the holiday. Experience this rich history and iconography through colorful calaca (skeleton) sculptures created by artist Ricardo Soltero. Altars for the dead created by community members are also a central part of the exhibition.

This exhibit is free, no tickets needed. Learn more at https://www.longmontcolorado.gov/departments/departments-e-m/museum/education/day-of-the-dead or call 303-651-8374.

Chicken BLEEP Bingo

  • Time: 2-8 p.m.
  • Location: 300 Suns Brewing, 335 1st Ave. Unit C

Come out for a eggs-citing time raising money for the athletes of Boulder County Bombers! Here's how it works: You pick a numbered square (or 5) on a board at the bottom of a fenced in pen and donate, say, $10* to the organization. We let a chicken loose in the pen with plenty of food (it will be poultry in motion). The chicken hangs out for a bit and then when it...ahem...does its business (POOPS, people, when it POOPS) the number it poops on gets a cash prize! It's sure to be a cluckin' good time.

We will have 5 games, you can start picking numbered squares for the first game at 2:00pm and that game starts at 3:00pm. If the chickens cooperate with our schedule (there may be some amount of winging it), there will be one game every hour until 7pm. Picking your numbered squares for each game following the first one will start 1/2 hour before the game.

* suggested donation, NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Must be 18 or older to play. See official rules for details at 300 Suns or 300sunsbrewing.com/chicken. Game is run by Boulder County Bombers.
