The Annual TinkerCarnival
Here’s a local’s secret: The TinkerCarnival is one of the best ways to see Longmont’s fireworks display without dealing with the crowds.
Every year, TinkerMill at 1840 Delaware Place in Longmont opens its doors for the towns best party (suggested donation of $5) with wonderful waterside views of the fireworks. They shoot everything right over the lake that sits next to TinkerMill.
Doors open at 4 p.m. and you can tour the space to check out all the activities members take part in from pottery, glass and silversmithing to computer programming to ham radio to 3D printing to blacksmithing- just to get started; see demonstrations of all types including pyrotechnics and models of rockets as well as games for the kids; fill up on food from Longmont's finest food trucks and drink some quality craft beer from our local breweries, plus, of course lots of live music.
There are water wars, a giant trebuchet, rock launches, a petting zoo and shopping. For more info, visit the Facebook page.
From Ron Thomas, the Executive Director of TinkerMill: “Folks should definitely show up early. Last year we heard from a lot of people that they came after dinner and they weren’t aware that we had food trucks.”
TinkerMill is a 501(c)3 Public Charity and all donations are tax deductible. TinkerMill is also in the City of Longmont Enterprise District so all donations are also eligable for a Colorado state tax credit of up to 25%.
