In March 2019, Arts Longmont, legally known as Longmont Council for the Arts, Inc. (LCA), announced their intent to dissolve due to financial hardship. It was estimated that the organization would be disbanded by April 30.

In the back room of the Firehouse Art Center are paint splattered tables, a coat rack of tan jumpsuits and a pile of black trash bags in the corner. It could easily be confused for a construction site, and that perception wouldn’t be far off.

These beautiful four-year-old kitties have become good buddies since arriving at Longmont Humane Society.

Located at 800 S. Main Street, Carpet Exchange has opened its showroom on July 13 to the public. Carpet Exchange is a family-owned business with over 19 locations, Longmont being the newest.

The exhibition at the Firehouse Art Center, titled Breaking Ground, works to address the way we engage with our environment, both inside and out of the spaces we construct for ourselves. The mixed media in the gallery highlights the work of three artists of exceptional talent and wildly different approach.

Six-year-old Roger is great with people of all ages, loves to play with toys and is an active, outgoing fellow!
