Cold case: Boulder man has been missing for almost 19 years

He was 26-years-old when he was last seen on April 18, 2003.

Robert Matthew Bockmann has been missing from Boulder for almost 19 years. 

Bockmann, nicknamed “Robbie,” was 26-years-old at the time of his disappearance on April 18, 2003. 

Bockmann’s car was found at the South Boulder Creek Trailhead at Walker Ranch the day after he went missing. His personal items, including his wallet and driver’s license, were still inside the vehicle. 

Police searched the area around where Bockmann’s vehicle was located for a number of days but the investigation was unsuccessful.

Bockmann was last seen wearing blue shorts, a white t-shirt with an oval-shaped logo, and either blue running shoes or new Vasque trail running shoes, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations Cold Case Files website.

Bockmann was a white male with blue eyes and strawberry-blonde hair. He stood at 5’10”, weighed 170 pounds and had a muscular build at the time of his disappearance. 

The details of Bockmann’s case also reveal he had a long scar from wrist to elbow in his left inner forearm due to to a suicide attempt. He had shown signs of mental health issues before he went missing and he may have been suicidal.
