Cold case: Denver Police find man unresponsive in doorway

On May 30, 2006, officers with the Denver Police Department responded to the 3500 block of West Custer Place on a report of shots fired in the area. 

When police arrived on the scene, officers found 41-year-old Javier Aguirre lying unresponsive in the doorway of his home in the area, according to a description of the case on the Colorado Bureau of Investigations website.  

Police determined Aguirre had been shot by unknown suspects. Four days later, he died as a result of the gunshot wounds.
