On February 18, 2017, at approximately 4 a.m., officers with the Aurora Police Department responded to 4065 S. Crystal Circle, where they found 29-year-old Kelly Bly Acosta lying on the ground and bleeding from gunshot wounds.
According to a report on the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Cold Case website, the suspect is a black male who shot Acosta when the victim confronted him.
The suspect fled in an unknown, possible white vehicle.
Acosta was transported from the crime scene to the Medical Center of Aurora, where he died as a result of the gunshot wounds.
