The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who is wanted in a child sexual exploitation case.

Michael Risinger-Peel, 41, is accused of downloading child sexual abuse material. He faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, the sheriff's office said.

Risinger-Peel was last known to live in the 1900 block of Sumac Place in Longmont. He's described as 5-feet 10-inches tall, 160 pounds, and he has black hair and green eyes.

The investigation was launched after the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information about the child exploitation material from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Investigators obtained a warrant to Risinger-Peel's home on March 30 and they found additional evidence, according to the release.

"It appears as though he may have moved out and left his known place of employment," the release read. "Attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful."

Risinger-Peel has a prior conviction of sexual exploitation of a child, the sheriff's office said.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Katie Tkach with the Boulder County Digital Forensics Lab at 303-441-3646.
