Salud Clinic reported several windows broken on Friday

Several Longmont businesses started the day Friday, only to discover they had broken windows. The suspect in the case allegedly committed the crime before.

In August, Juan Arnulfo Salas allegedly broke 10 stained glass windows on the south side of Old Stephens Church. The damage was estimated to cost $20,000.  Salas also is said to have broken several windows Longmont Public Media and the Longmont Public Library.

When Salas was arrested for the crime, Salas told the arresting officer that he did not want to be in Longmont and "it was him versus the world," Officer Jessica Carbajal told the Leader in August.

On Friday, several more Longmont businesses had their windows broken including the VFW, Colorado Aromatics, Salud Clinic, Dicks Sporting Goods, Alpine Technology, Front Range Community College and Solidigm, according to the police.

According to Communications and Marketing Manager for Longmont Public Safety, Robin Ericson, "there could be other pending reports related to this case."

An arrest affidavit states that officers were investigating the broken window at Salud Clinic when they came into contact with Salas. The officers ran Salas' name through their database and discovered Salas had several warrants in his name. Those warrants include a felony failure to comply for an arrest that was issued on Feb. 21 for criminal mischief resulting in $5,000 to $20,000 of damage, a misdemeanor failure to comply for an arrest issued on Feb. 20 on a criminal mischief charge and a misdemeanor failure to comply for an arrest issued on Feb. 23 for a disorderly conduct charge of discharging a firearm.

Salas was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on Friday.

"After being read his Miranda Rights, Juan admitted to breaking 4-6 windows at the Salud Clinic. He also stated breaking windows make him feel good," the arrest affidavit states.

As of right now, the total cost of the damage is unknown, however, officers estimate over $3,500 in damages for Salud Clinic alone. Front Range Community College is believed to have eight broken windows and Solidigm has 15.
