On Thursday Weld County Detentions Officer Jason Hillyer was arrested for having an intimate relationship with at least one inmate at the Weld County Jail.

Hillyer was hired in June, 2018 as a jail deputy.

Hillyer was placed on administrative leave on June 29 after allegations of the event reached jail staff, according to a Weld County Sheriff's Department Facebook post

After an extensive investigation by Internal Affairs and the sheriff's office criminal investigations unit, Hillyer was arrested and now faces one count of sexual conduct, which is a Class 5 felony.

He was taken to Weld County Jail and placed on non-paid administrative leave.

The investigation continues and no further details are currently being released by the Weld County Sheriff's Office at this time, according to the post.
