I will never forget the devastation the 2013 flood caused our city. It truly was catastrophic and we were lucky to have no fatalities. Since that time the city has worked diligently on the Resilient St. Vrain Project to clean up, widen and fortify the St. Vrain River in phases as resources allow.

As each phase is completed, more of Longmont comes out of the flood plain. The next phase that needs funding is from Sunset to Hover. Ballot question 3C will issue bonds for funding this phase without a tax increase. It has been a long and arduous task to make certain damage from future floods will not happen again. That is why I am encouraging everyone to vote yes on 3C. It is the responsible thing to do.
