The beauty service business, Lash + Company, opened on Apr. 1, and officially held its opening Thursday afternoon at its 2130 Mountain View suite 208 with a ribbon cutting with the Longmont Chamber of Commerce, giveaways and drinks and snacks.

Lash + Company in Longmont is a franchise location offering permanent makeup, spray tanning, skin treatments, hair removal, injectables and, of course, lash services.

Lash extensions, a semipermanent service of applying fake lashes to a client’s individual lashes, is the most popular request at the full-service med spa, said owner Serena Jacob. She referred to permanent and temporary cosmetics as morning makeup.

“The benefit of having permanent makeup is that everything is done. So when you have lashes and your eyeliner, brows and lip blushing, you have to do pretty much nothing in the morning,” Jacob said. “You can just wake up dazzling, you know?”

Other makeup services include eyelash and eyebrow tinting, lash and eyebrow perming (known as lift and lamination respectively) and tattoo cosmetics for eyeliner, lips (blushing) and eyebrows (microblading).

Jacob grew up in Mead, and went to school and worked in the Longmont area. After 15 years of working in dental and managing an office in town, Jacob changed careers and went to esthetician school. She decided to jump at the opportunity to open a Lash + Company franchise with her husband, Mikeal.

Along with Jacob, two cosmetologists and two estheticians makeup the Lash + Company staff. She said that they hold multiple certifications, managing the long list of services offered. The variety of treatments casts a net on a wide clientele.

“We have teenagers who are dealing with cystic acne problems. We have people in their mid-30s and -40s that are into the laser treatments, injectables. I have a lot of older women coming in for permanent makeup,” Jacob said. “And then we also treat men and so we've been doing lots of micro needling on male clients, and even trying to do hair regeneration with stem cells and micro needling.”

Skin rejuvenating includes plasma pen, dermaplaning, microneedling, peels and intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. Lash + Company’s hair removal offerings are waxing and laser treatments. Injectables, such as botox and dermal filler, are also offered at the med spa.

Jacob said it’s important to have thorough consultations to meet clients’ custom needs. Tailoring Lash + Company appointments for each individual leaves feeling their best.

“My favorite part is just when they walk out of our spa. They feel confident and rejuvenated,” Jacob said.
