Centura Health was established 1996. For the past 27 years, AdventHealth and CommonSpirit Health have worked together under the Centura management company. On Tuesday, the two health systems decided it was time to manage only their respective care sites.

“Independently, we will continue to serve and provide mission-focused care in our communities,” stated the two healthcare systems in a news release.

Folks in Colorado who utilize the Centura Healthcare system will soon see changes in the logo. Centura facilities will now adorn the CommonSpirit Health logo for 20 hospitals and more than 240 care sites in Colorado, Kansas and Utah.

The hospitals in Colorado now under CommonSpirit Health include:

  • Longmont United Hospital, Longmont
  • Mercy Hospital, Durango
  • OrthoColorado Hospital, Lakewood
  • Penrose Hospital, Colorado Springs
  • St. Anthony Hospital, Lakewood
  • St. Anthony North Hospital, Westminster
  • St. Anthony Summit Hospital, Frisco
  • St. Elizabeth Hospital, Fort Morgan
  • St. Francis Hospital, Colorado Springs
  • St. Francis Hospital – Interquest, Colorado Springs
  • St. Mary-Corwin Hospital, Pueblo
  • St. Thomas More Hospital, Canon City

Although the managing system is changing for these care facilities, officials say nothing else is expected to change for now.

“While the hospitals and clinics may no longer have “Centura” in their name, you will continue to receive the same compassionate care from the caregivers you know and trust. The care teams are still called to serve you,” the news release stated.

CommonSpirit assures patients that they can still receive the same care from the same providers as before. It also states that there are no immediate changes to which insurances are accepted by the healthcare system.

CommonSpirit is one of the largest nonprofit, faith-based health systems in the U.S., representing 140 hospitals and more than 1,000 care facilities in 21 states. The healthcare system was created in 2019 through a partnership of Catholic Health Initiative and Dignity Health
