Front Range Community College announced that it will be offering its third bachelor’s degree program. The new program is designed to teach business skills to people in creative industries.

“Earning this degree can help turn your passion into a great career,” according to FRCC Chair Dolly Rosenbrook. “Many employers in creative fields prefer a bachelor’s degree.”

According to a study conducted by FRCC, creative industry professionals found that 75% of respondents felt as if a bachelor’s degree was valuable.

The degree program at FRCC will prepare students in career fields such as multimedia graphic design, digital animation, graphic design, video production, web design, interior architecture and design, music and recording arts technology, studio art, computer-aided drafting and design, architectural engineering and construction, creative writing, commercial photography, theater and performing arts and arts management.

In each field of study, students will also learn critical business skills such as marketing, managing teams, creative strategy and planning, project management, organizational leadership and sustainable creative practices, according to the news release.

“FRCC is taking the lead on the BAS in business for creative industries in an effort to help students save time and money on completing their four-year degree,” said Rebecca Woulfe, vice president of academic affairs and provost. “We’re ready to put Colorado on the map by adding bachelor’s degrees at many, if not all, of our community colleges here in the state.”
