On January 1, a new law takes effect – HB19-1328 - requiring landlords to promptly respond to reports from tenants about bed bugs and to pay for mitigation of bed bugs in their rental units (read the full text of the law at http://bit.ly/34X6ghz). As with the new provisions of the Warranty of Habitability regarding reports of mold from tenants, which took effect on August 3 of last year, the new bed bug law contains specific time-limited deadlines for a landlord to respond and mitigate. As a landlord, your understanding of this new law is an important component to the continued success of your business.

Deb Wilson, an experienced landlord law attorney with the firm of Springman, Braden, Wilson & Pontius, P.C. and a dynamic speaker, will talk about the new law and its requirements. Debbie was named a Top Lawyer in 2017, 2018, 2019 and now 2020 by 5280 Magazine and received the David Michael Award for Outstanding Creditor’s Rights Attorney from the Colorado Creditor Bar Association. Take advantage of this no-cost opportunity to learn the new law from one of the best in the business! Whether you own one rental property or are responsible for multiple units, this training promises to be engaging and educational. Don’t let the bed bugs bite and join us on January 8 for our monthly Landlord Training Alliance.
