When you are gifted with a name like Snow White, the best thing to do is embrace your good fortune and go along with the fame. That’s the choice Snow White made as a young woman and it is a decision she has never regretted. When she moved to Longmont 23 years ago she was focused on building a life with her husband{ JIM?} and raising two boys in the beautiful Colorado foothills. But she missed the shopping experience she enjoyed back in Dallas, TX. “When I went home for visits I would take empty suitcases so I could shop at all my favorite boutiques – stores that sold unique, quality merchandise that really fit my style,” said Snow.

After working at a variety of retail businesses in Boulder and Longmont, Snow discovered many other shoppers, just like herself, who were interested in well-made apparel with original style. Snow also became more educated and aware of environmentally friendly fabrics, safe working conditions, and the important obligation to support North American manufacturers. “I saw the need for a shop where you could buy high quality, ethically produced clothing and accessories,” said Snow, “so I set out to fill it.” And Snow Apparel was born.

“At Snow we have fabrics you can feel, clothing you can try on and products you can trust.” The store carries nationally known fashion lines by designers Joseph Ribkoff, Clara SunWoo and Jess & Jane, and many more! Additionally, you will find jewelry, handbags and other accessories created by Colorado artisans. After careful research, Snow has selected a few Fair Trade brands which feature clothing ethically manufactured in developing countries, like Passion Lilie designed in New Orleans and made in India, which provides fair and safe employment opportunities for local women.

New clothing options come in every week, from crossover scarves produced by Ivy Reed, a retired school teacher in Pennsylvania, to new designs for leisure and active wear from Majamas – “an ecofriendly company committed to ethically USA made clothing and a zero waste lifestyle.” Beautiful fabrics made from organic and natural fibers, unparalleled designer fashions, and exceptional customer care are all available right here in Longmont.
