The Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce is launching a pilot program with Front Range Community College and St. Vrain Valley School District; inviting students to engage and shape a program at the Chamber geared toward connecting students to the business community. But outside the walls of their education systems, the students will be in charge, telling the Longmont Chamber what’s relevant and vital for them to learn, grow and connect.

Students, parents, teachers and education partners are invited to learn more about the Longmont Chamber and the Chamber Student Network on October 26th from 5:00-6:00pm at the Longmont Chamber, 528 Main Street.

Chris McGilvray, a member of the Longmont Chamber board of directors and owner of Longmont Liquors said “The Longmont Chamber of Commerce has been in this community for 130 years. However, that doesn’t mean that younger generations understand the purpose of a Chamber of Commerce.”

McGilvray is also a professor at Front Range Community College’s Longmont Campus and always looking for practical resources for his students, he continued “After all, what could networking, business development, and marketing have to do with our future entrepreneurs and leaders? Sounds obvious when you say it. And it’s all at the Chamber”.
