On Dec. 5, Longmont Dairy visited Blue Mountain Elementary for a special ceremony. Blue Mountain is the school where the 6 millionth milk cap was turned in.

The ceremony consisted of Katie Herrmann, LDF Co-Owner, and Gary

Schlagel, Community Service Director, of Longmont Dairy Farm, presenting a special certificate and an additional check to the school. The school celebrated with cookies and milk.

Longmont Dairy Farm's MILK CAPS for MOOLA program serves over 370 schools along Colorado's Front Range.

The funds from the milk caps are donated to the schools to spend however they wish. The dairy has received letters from students that describe the creative ways they promoted the program and that the schools have used the funds at the schools.

“We are excited to report that we have donated over $300,000 to participating schools since we started the program five years ago,” said Katie Herrmann, co-owner of Longmont

Dairy. “And it’s fun to see the students’ enthusiasm and the meaningful ways these funds have enhanced their programs.”
