Each year in the last week of July, Longmont gathers some of the best minds of business to teach a new generation of entrepreneurs at Longmont Startup Week. Organizers are lining up the content and looking to the community to chime in with topics of interest.

“Our community is home to some of the brightest and most innovative business leaders in the state,” said Lori Jones, president and CEO of Avocet Communications, one of the event’s sponsors. “With the call-for-content, we hope to tap into that brain trust, all of those creative minds and get their insights into what they think this year’s Startup Week should be about. We welcome and encourage everyone to participate; your input is invaluable.”

Individuals interested in putting a topic on the list are encouraged to fill out a survey by April 30, a news release from Longmont Startup Week stated.

Longmont Startup Week began in 2014. Since its inception, the event has brought together entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs — an innovator within a company — investors and talent to invigorate and nurture Longmont’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, the news release states.

The week’s discussions are open to the public providing attendees with real-world tools to use in launching, expanding or growing their ventures, the news release states.

This year’s virtual event will take place from July 26-30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day with Zoom rooms placed around Longmont for public viewing.

Longmont Startup Week is also planning to host two in-person events at the end of the day on July 26 and July 30.
