The Longmont Economic Development Partnership (LEDP) recently awarded Maker General, located at 381 Main St., with a $3,000 Advance Longmont Startup Grant.
“We are happy and super grateful to be selected for the LEDP grant because we supported by the Longmont community and we feel like a maker store like ours is an asset to Main Street and are excited to grow this project,” state Maker General owners, Julie Benoit and Stephanie Sterling.
These grants are designed to help small businesses with their launch efforts. The grant money is typically used for permitting, licensing, regulatory compliance, the purchase of equipment and other beginning costs associated with startup businesses.
Benoit and Sterling state that "the startup grant up money will be used for purchasing cool new inventory and for advertising.”
In order to qualify for an Advance Longmont Grant, businesses be open less than two years and meet all the criteria of the grant program.
