Longmont merchandise agency BBP created the Strongmont logo to further benefit our local business economy with an online store for Strongmont merchandise, and will donate $5 of every purchase going to the Strongmont Grant fund for local businesses, but #Strongmont has become so much more than that during these trying times.

The Longmont Chamber, Visit Longmont, and the Longmont Downtown Development Authority used the hashtag #Strongmont to promote Longmont solidarity during the lockdown.

Longmont businesses have used #Strongmont to connect back with the city and its customers.

Longmont residents have also used the hashtag to voice their lockdown experiences and support each other.

There are also various projects now associated with #Strongmont amid the coronavirus pandemic quarantine.

The Advance Longmont Economic Partners have formed the Strongmont Fund which is comprised of funds from the City, LDDA, LEDP, and donations from the broader community. The Strongmont Fund will provide grant funding to local small businesses. Strongmont Grant applications for businesses opened on May 18, and any business that meets the criteria is welcome to apply here .

The Longmont Creative District started a #Strongmont Creates grant program on May 15th that provides up to $250 to creatives in the Longmont community. They are looking for engaging and inspiring projects to be showcased on the streets, and inside the businesses and organizations of the Longmont Creative District.

The Strongmont grants haven't actually been awarded yet so we can't really say what the impact has been. The intent is to support our local businesses and to continue to stand together as a community,” said Karen Stallard, membership director with the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Strongmont isn't going anywhere. We aren't through this yet, and local businesses are just on the brink of opening up and need the community to support them now more than ever.”
