UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital announced on Wednesday that 18 of its employees will receive scholarships to further their education.

The 2023-24 Employee Scholarship Program is made possible through private and community-based partner donations. This year the hospital was able to raise $31,000 which will be distributed among 18 employees.

“The scholarship program helps high-caliber workforce members achieve their personal goals, advance the professional leadership of the UCHealth system and ultimately provide an exceptional care experience for patients, many of whom live in the Longmont and Broomfield areas,” a news release from UCHealth stated.

The scholarships support both permanent and relief employees as they pursue certifications, licensure, associate, bachelor, master’s and doctorate degrees.

“With the cost of living increasing in Colorado, it is vitally important for us to build up health care workers,” said Ashley Kasprzak, UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital Foundation manager. “By supporting their educational dreams, we are incentivizing them to stay in our community and, ultimately, ensuring excellent local health care provided at our hospital and clinics.”

The following employees were awarded scholarships: Michelle Borgwardt, Morganne Brown, Amy Dickerson, Saronda Doering, Kelsey Hericks, Mason Horton, Jamal Jamil, Brandy Johnson, Adam Jordan, Kunsang Lhamo, Jessica Liberatore, Piotr Malinowski, Angel Matten, Ana Montez, Mercedes Salazar, Brittany Spomer, Paris Swallow and Sarah Von Thun.
