52-year-old Trinidad Nunez, Jr., an inmate at the Weld County Jail, was pronounced dead after experiencing a medical episode on Friday, June 20.
Detention deputies found Nunez at 1:43 p.m. “suffering from what appeared to be a medical episode,” according to a statement made by the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). Deputies provided CPR and called for medical staff and paramedics. Nunez was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is an active investigation being conducted by the 19th Judicial CIRT and no other information will be released until the investigation is concluded.
