Angles Sports Exchange opens rental stand at McIntosh Lake

Rentals are available each weekend of the summer

Longmont’s Angles Sports Exchange have expanded rental services to Mcintosh Lake.

The family owned and operated sporting goods store is bringing the kayak and paddleboard rentals to the north side of McIntosh Lake, in Flanders Park.

“The city granted us a special use permit for the season,” said Mat Burditt, one of the owners of Angles. “We’ve been pitching ideas to them for a while now, and we’re excited that it’s happening.”

The rentals will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every weekend through the end of summer.

The rental comes with a life jacket, and residents will have to sign a waiver in order to take the craft out on the water. Burditt said their staff are very safety oriented with all their outdoor recreation.

“If you’ve never used a paddleboard or kayak, we can walk people through carrying it into the water, how to hold a paddle and operate safely in the water,” Burditt said. “Fortunately with McIntosh Lake, even if the wind comes up you won’t be blown too far off course.”

Angles had the first rental weekend on June 5.

“It was a great response for a trial run,” Burditt said. “Not many rentals that day, but we definitely got a lot of bookings for next weekend.”

Longmont residents looking to get out on the water at McIntosh Lake can stop by the rental stand in Flanders Park, or call Angles directly at 720-600-6855.
