The Good Life Refuge will pay visitors to come visit the farm animal sanctuary on April 30.

An anonymous donor is paying $5 for each new visitor to come meet over 70 rescued farm animals and take a tour of the sanctuary, according to a release from the Good Life Refuge.

The donor is convinced that spending time with farm animals will bring awareness and individual perspective of seeing farm animals as a food source, the nonprofit said.

“This is a very unique opportunity for us and new visitors made possible by our amazing donor,” said Nicole Brecht, executive director of the Good Life Refuge. “New visitors can experience the sanctuary for free and even take some extra cash home.”

The Good Life Refuge currently cares for 70 rescued farm animals and 11 different species on site who were acquired from local authorities or agencies due to hoarding cases, stray animals found in the street, owner surrounders, rescues from zoning violations and more.

“We are very excited to meet new guests and share the unique rescue stories of our animals with them,” Brecht added. “Hopefully, this event will inspire our guests and ignite positive change to better the life of farmed animals.”

The free open house will be April 30, and guests can select their arrival time at either 1 or 2:30 p.m. Due to limited parking, guests are asked to RSVP ahead of time at https://www.goodliferefuge.org/events-calender/sanctuary-open-house-man2m-mcrzw-yf2k6.
