Official Press Release for the Longmont Police Department:

The Longmont Police Department is currently investigating a domestic violence incident that resulted in multiple people in a home being stabbed.

Shortly before 9:30 PM, an adult female, age 54, and an adult male, age 29, responded to the hospital with injuries related to a stabbing. Officers learned a third person, an adult male, age 57, had also been stabbed and may be in a home located at 146 East Sixth Ave.

Officers responded to the home and observed the injured male and entered the home. With assistance from Longmont Fire and AMR, he was transported to the hospital and has since died as a result of his injuries.

The 54 year old female had multiple stab wounds, was taken to surgery, and is expected to survive. The 29 year old male had superficial injuries and has been released from the hospital.

At this point, this appears to be a domestic related and one of the individuals may have used force in defense of another.

All parties are cooperating with the investigation. We have prepared a search warrant for the home and will likely be at the home until early this morning.

We are continuing our investigation. Any decisions on charges are pending completion of the investigation, autopsy and review of the investigation by the DA’s office.
