Elections Division Ballot Processing Center will host three ballot processing tours in June, two in person and one online. These tours will allow participants to better understand how ballots are processed.

On Tuesday June 21, Boulder County Clerk  Molly Fitzpatrick will host an online elections presentation at 6 p.m. The presentation is expected to last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Participants must RSVP.

The webinar will give a high level overview of how local elections offices ensure an efficient, accurate and secure election. The webinar will include information about the upcoming elections in June and November, ballot processing basics, frequently asked voter questions, voter statics, election security questions, ballot processing steps and more.

On June 24, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and June 27, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fitzpatrick will host in-person ballot processing tours. The tours take roughly 30 minutes, and participants must RSVP for a timeslot. The tours will take place at the Elections Division Ballot Processing Center at 1750 33rd Street in Boulder.

The in person tours offer the opportunity to see how ballots are processed, understand how signatures are verified on mail ballots and learn how ballot adjudication works. Visitors will be able to observe workers processing ballots for the June 28 Primary Election. Students are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about the election process.

Tour attendees must leave personal belongings in the car to protect the security of the staff, and election judges at the Elections Division Ballot Processing Center. Attendees also will be asked to sign-in, and per Boulder County’s mandate masks are required.
