The wife of missing man Saza Lee said his remains were found Feb. 13 near Sandstone Ranch Park although the Boulder County Coroner has not officially identified the body.
Lee, 54, has been reported missing since Sept. 10 after he went on an evening bike ride Sept. 10 near Kanemoto Park.
Police told the Leader in September that Lee left his home on his own accord and that he was not considered a victim of a random crime.
Bobbie Lee, Saza’s wife, posted on the Facebook group “Help Find Saza Lee” on Feb. 13 that Saza Lee was found in the Sandstone area and had been released to the coroner’s office for forensics.
“It was the most heartbreaking phone call I have ever had to take,” Bobbie Lee wrote. She added that she did not have a lot of information at this time and wanted to have privacy and a time to “process and grieve,” Bobbie Lee wrote.
She also thanked everyone who searched for her husband as well as for their time and prayers.
The body near Sandstone Ranch was originally thought to be in Boulder County. But when Boulder County Coroner’s officials completed their investigation, they discovered the body was in Weld County, said Jolene Weiner, Weld County Coroner’s Office Chief Deputy
“It happens sometimes in these border areas,” Weiner said. The Boulder County Coroner retained jurisdiction of the body.
The Boulder County Coroner gave no indication when the investigation will be complete.
