Boulder County Public Works’ Resource Conservation Division is once again allocating up to $15,000 for projects that promote waste reduction and diversion from the landfill.
Applications for the 2022 Zero Waste Funding Program are now being accepted and must be received at the Boulder County Resource Conservation Division office by 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, 2021 to be considered, according to a Boulder County news release.
Project funding will begin in January 2022. Applications should be emailed to [email protected].
Established in 1997, the program has awarded over $1 million for education and infrastructure initiatives that promote waste reduction and diversion from the landfill, the news release states. Zero Waste Funding provided an opportunity for businesses and organizations to contribute to Boulder County’s vision of becoming a zero-waste community, the news release states. Boulder County is encouraging programs with an emphasis on resource diversion (new tons divested from the land) for businesses, residents and government buildings.
The county will also continue to accept and consider applications for programs that are outside of this limited focus, the news release states.
The minimum funding amount available for a project is $1,000, with a maximum of $15,000. Local governments, non-profit organizations, school districts, schools, private companies and individuals may apply as long as the scope of work is in Boulder County or the city and county Broomfield and insurance requirements are met.
