Boulder County motorists are urged to pay close attention to Boulder County Sheriffs, Colorado State Patrol and volunteer fire marshals as they oversee traffic safety around the TriBoulder Duathlon & Triathlon Saturday.

BBSC Endurance Sports is holding the event, which starts and finishes at the Boulder Reservoir. All roads on the course will remain open during the race, which starts at 7 a.m., according to a Boulder County news release.

Riders will be single file  and spread out and all cyclists will be off the road by 12:30 p.m. A sweep vehicle will follow the last cyclists and alert police and course marshals along the way so that traffic can return to normal as soon as possible, the news release states.

When passing a bicyclist, motorists must allow at least three feet of space between their vehicle and a bicyclist. To pass a bicyclist safely, drivers may cross a double yellow centerline when oncoming traffic is clear, the news release states.
