The Boulder Office of Emergency Management, or Boulder OEM, now advises the residents of Louisville to boil its water prior to consumption in a community update at 7:30 p.m.

People with large animals are advised to take them to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds located at 15200 W. Sixth Ave. Frontage Rd. in Golden or to The Ranch Events Complex located at 5280 Arena Circle, Ste. 100 in Loveland. Currently the Boulder County Fairgrounds is at capacity.

The Community Foundation of Boulder County has set up a fund to assist victims of the Marshall and Middle Fork fires. Those willing to donate can do so here

Power outages are being reported throughout the area, however, emergency crews are unable to predict when electricity will be restored. According to Boulder OEM, power utility crews are working to restore power. The emergency office does report less outages than earlier in the day.

Boulder OEM offers the following tips should you or someone you know experience a power outage:

  • Turn on a single light to be alerted when power is restored and check the status of the outage with your utility provider.
  • Use food safety by keeping the doors of your refrigerator and freezer shut as much as possible as this will help maintain the cold temperature.
  • Think about how you’ll keep your mobile device charged. A laptop or car charger can help. Coffee shops and community centers are also good places to charge devices.
  • Food in your refrigerator after eight hours begins to spoil and may no longer be safe, so you should pack food into a cooler surrounded by ice.
  • Check on elderly and vulnerable neighbors if your outage is lasting longer than 12 hours.
  • When trying to keep warm overnight, please do not use a gas stove or oven to heat your home.
  • Only use a generator outdoors and away from windows.
