Breaking news: Woman found dead in car at Flagg Park trailhead

No foul play suspected at this time, sheriff's office says

A woman was found dead in a car Saturday morning at the Flagg Park trailhead.

According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the county received a report from a hiker just after 8 a.m. of a woman in a car with blood on her face and a bullet hole in the windshield. A release said that Lafayette and Erie police officers found the vehicle and medical personnel from the Lafayette and Mountain View fire departments provided medical treatment to the 24-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office and Boulder County Coroner's Office are investigating the unattended death, but the sheriff's office added that no foul play is suspected at this time and there is no threat to the community.

The release added that the name of the woman is being withheld pending her identification and notification of her next of kin
