Access will be blocked from Coffman Street into the Longmont Post Office parking lot at 201 Coffman Street starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 through 9 a.m. Monday, Aug 18. This closure is for additional concrete work on the Coffman Street Mobility Improvements project. Parking lot access is anticipated to be closed after business hours on Thursday and restored in time for the facility’s opening on Monday.

This closure is the second in a series of approximately four intermittent short-term closures planned during the project. During the closures, customers are encouraged to park in the public parking lots on Coffman Street north of 3rd Avenue.

The Longmont Post Office will remain open for business during all parking lot closures, offering usual access to counter services, P.O. boxes and passport appointments. Alternately, customers may use postal services at the Marketplace Postal Station inside the Ace Hardware Store at 1727 Main St. or the Hygiene Post Office at 11830 N. 75th St. Other surrounding locations can be found by visiting the USPS Find a Location and choosing “Post Office” as the location type.

The blue collection boxes located at the Longmont Post Office drive-through have been temporarily removed during the Coffman Street construction. Nearby collection boxes are located at 477 Main St. with a 10:30 a.m. pickup, 736 Main St. with a noon pickup and 1035 Kimbark St. with a noon pickup. Customers can find other nearby boxes by visiting the USPS Find a Location and choosing “Collection Boxes” as the location type.
