Longmont Police Department, in collaboration with the Thorton Police Department, located and arrested Rodrigo Ignacio Albarran-Estrada at a Thorton residence around 5:44 p.m. on July 24, 2018.
He was arrested for the crimes of First Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Assault and Sexual Assault on a child.
"We are very happy for this to be an arrest," states Sgt. Matt Cage, Longmont PD, in an email to the Longmont Observer.
Around 4 a.m. on the morning of July 24, Longmont police officers responded to a burglary in progress. The location of the crime was in the 100 block of Snowmass Pl. in Longmont.
According to a press release issued by the Longmont Police Department, "The suspect (whom is not known to the victims) entered a residence through an unlocked door and sexually assaulted a juvenile inside. Other people in the residence chased the suspect out of the residence."
