NEWS RELEASE
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
*************************
Starting overnight on July 5, the Colorado Department of Transportation will begin a bridge repair and polyester concrete overlay project in Boulder County. Work includes repairs to two structures. The first, on Colorado Highway 157 just south of Diagonal Highway in Boulder, will undergo extensive deck repairs and safety improvements. This work will be done during overnight hours to minimize traffic impacts. Rehabilitation on the second bridge on CO 7 in the Town of Lyons will be done during daytime hours and includes scour mitigation and riprap installation. These much-needed bridge improvements are being funded by federal and state grants. Structures, Inc. has been selected as the prime contractor for this project.
The Boulder bridge located at Mile Point 3.52 on CO 157 will undergo deck repairs and expansion device and median curb replacement. Surface work includes polyester concrete overlay, new cover plates, concrete sealer, and spall repairs. Maintenance work on the Lyons bridge at Mile Point 32.973 on CO 7 includes adding abutment protection riprap as a scour countermeasure.
