The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop in Niwot will welcome middle-grade author of the book "Trashed!" to its store later this month.
Martha Freeman is an award-nominated author who has written 30 children's books. After she graduated from Stanford University, she explored many occupations including being a newspaper reporter, copy editor, substitute teacher, college lecturer, advertising copywriter and a magazine writer. She now says her true calling is to be a writer of children's books, according to her website.
Freeman also teaches remote classes at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Freeman's latest book — "Trashed!" — is geared toward a middle-grade audience. The mystery novel is set in Boulder and "lacks some of the usual hallmarks of the genre — there's no murder or mayhem, but there is a ghost and a near-perfect crime," states the news release from The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop.
Claudia Mills will also be at the event to host a conversation with Freeman.
Mills has published over 60 children's books of her own — several of which have been chosen or nominated for awards and distinctions, according to the news release.
The event will be held at The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop, located at 198 Second Ave. Ste. 1A in Niwot from 5 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 21.
