City council Tuesday night will be asked to approve Longmont’s  $391 million budget which includes 31 new positions.

  • A counselor in senior services who will provide short-term, one-on-one counseling; facility support groups; support peer support volunteers; and provide consultation to family caregivers.
  • A bilingual outreach coordinator for the Longmont Library.
  • A social equity coordinator for the Office of Equity, focusing on embedding equity within the organization, and to serve the “community as an entry portal to address equity issues,” the staff report stated.
  • A development project administrator to act as a “high-level center point of contact for internal and external development customers for designated high priority projects,” the staff report stated.
  • Two new Parks and Open Space Rangers to cover McIntosh Lake as well as other locations in the city.
