The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) has awarded the City of Greeley a $15,000 marketing matching grant. The city announced they will use the funds to create a tourism data platform that will create visitor profile reports, analyze hotel and rental trends, and audit accessibility for all visitors. The goal is to understand what drives tourists to visit Greeley so the city can use more effective marketing strategies to bring more tourists to the city.
The program provides $4 for every $1 the city spends on the project. The is expected to spend $3,750 on the project to receive the full $15,000 marketing matching grant. The CTO chose 12 recipients of the grant for the 2025 year, including “Visit Fort Collins” and the City of Idaho Springs for a total of $210,022.
"We're thrilled to see the impact these tourism management grants will have on communities across Colorado,” said OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman. “They empower local leaders to craft unique visitor experiences while safeguarding the natural beauty that makes our state so special. It is truly rewarding to support these local efforts that will strengthen Colorado's economy and enrich the lives of both residents and visitors."
The CTO has “strategic pillars of economic vitality, industry leadership, and destination stewardship” that guide the decision-making process. In 2024, the program awarded over $240,000 to a total of 14 recipients.
“It's exciting to see these grants put to work across the state," said CTO Director Timothy Wolfe. "Our program goes beyond just funding projects — it fuels the communities that drive tourism, showcasing Colorado’s world-class landscapes, rich history, vibrant spirit, and commitment to destination stewardship."
