City seeks public input on study of travel through southwest Longmont
The City of Longmont recently initiated the Southwest Longmont Operations Study to address future demands on Longmont’s multimodal transportation system in the southwest part of town. Specifically, the study will examine the roadway network formed by Ken Pratt Boulevard, Hover Street, and Nelson Road, including major intersections along these corridors. The purpose of the study is to identify needed intersection and transportation system improvements and pedestrian and bicycle improvements.
As part of this process, City staff and project consultants are inviting the public to discuss potential improvements. A public open house will be held on April 5, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the City of Longmont’s Sunset Campus, 7 South Sunset Street, Longmont, Colorado. Members of the public are invited to attend between those times to learn about existing and forecasted transportation conditions and to provide suggestions for improvements to the study area roadways, intersections, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
Those unable to attend the meeting are encouraged to provide comments on the project webpage. Exhibits presented at the meeting will be available on the project webpage within a week of the meeting.
