The city of Longmont is once again looking for residents to fill city board, commission and committee seats.

This bi-annual event allows residents — who have lived in Longmont and are registered voters — to fill vacancies on the city’s boards, committees and commissions.

The seats are volunteer positions in which participants are able to guide the Longmont City Council on decisions important to the community.

“All boards play an important role in public policy development and implementation, protection and stewardship of the city’s assets, and in guiding city council on decisions important to the Longmont community,” according to the city of Longmont website.

Applications are available online and are due by Nov. 12, no later than 5 p.m.

Those interested in multiple boards are allowed to apply with a separate application for each, however, individuals will only be allowed to serve on one board at a time.

Once applications are in, the city clerk’s staff will contact applicants to schedule an interview with the Longmont City Council. Interviews will be held on Dec. 4. The council’s appointments will be made at the following Regular Session of city council.

Terms begin in January 2022. For questions concerning the application process or confirmation on you application call 303.651.8649.
